Serenna Davies Welcome to the Nurturing Retreat Place

My name is Serenna and in November 2007 I bought a large cottage in a quiet Dorset hamlet where I would love people to come to Replenish, Recuperate, Recharge and Rest.

The Nurturing Place is perfect for B&B, a relaxing break or a retreat weekend. You can simply come for rest, relaxation and walking in the country or along the coastal paths. There is also the opportunity for meditation, aromatherapy and massage. Please see our Therapies page for further details. Enjoy a full English breakfast and lunch/dinner if required. All dietary needs can be catered for.

The Nurturing Place has a homely, relaxed informal atmosphere where you can come with others or just bring yourself! We also have Free Wi-Fi access.

The Nurturing Place is in the heart of Thomas Hardy country, surrounded by thatched cottages, a medieval church and rolling green hills. There are lots of country pubs and fish restaurants by the harbour. See our Attractions page for some other exciting ideas for things to do while you stay. The house is four miles from Dorchester and eight miles from Weymouth beach and harbour.

I trained as a nurse and health visitor in Oxford. I have 10 years experience in counselling and personal development. I have studied with the International Institute of Health and Holisitc studies and can offer Aromatherapy and Indian head massage. I have also trained with Psychology of Vision and Cruse Bereavement Care.

News for Summer 2009 - 1st Year Success

I have had a fantastic first year at ‘The Nurturing Place’. 131 guests have stayed here from as near as Poole and as far away as New Zealand! Some have already been back for a second visit and one lady has been here four times. I have certainly achieved my vision of providing a peaceful relaxed haven for people to come and convalesce or de-stress. People arrive exhausted and it is very rewarding to see them leave relaxed and full of life again. Most have taken advantage of the massage treatments available. I am hoping to install a hot tub in the not too distant future. Everyone loves the informal homely atmosphere here. We have had some very enjoyable and fun evenings sitting around the big table having dinner.

I am happy to announce that I will be running a series of workshops:

  • Positive Transformation - Residential or Non Residential
I am very pleased to announce that this autumn I will be facilitating some Positive Transformation workshops with my great friend Lorrayn de Peyer. www.thecouragetosing.co.uk

  • Lightning Process - Residential or Non Residential
These 3 day trainings created by Phil Parker will be run by another lovely friend Lyn Atkins www.lynatkins.com. The trainings are very beneficial for anyone suffering from ME, MS, chronic fatigue, viral illness, anxiety, stress and overwhelm. I had chronic fatigue following Glandular Fever and it has worked wonders for me. I highly recommend it!

Please see our workshops page for further details and contact us for further details.
